File Transfer for Supply Chain — AS2, SFTP, and EDI with Xferity
File Transfer for Supply Chain
Section titled “File Transfer for Supply Chain”Supply chain operations depend on timely, reliable file exchange: advance ship notices, purchase orders, invoices, inventory feeds, carrier manifests. When these fail silently or deliver duplicates, downstream operations break.
Supply chain file transfer patterns
Section titled “Supply chain file transfer patterns”AS2 for EDI-adjacent exchange: many supply chain partners, logistics networks, and retailers require AS2 for document exchange. Xferity supports AS2 with certificate-based signing, encryption, and MDN receipt handling.
SFTP for partner directory exchange: warehouse systems and logistics platforms commonly use SFTP for file handoff. Xferity enforces SSH host verification and tracks processed files with idempotency to prevent duplicate order processing.
Scheduled outbound feeds: daily or intraday delivery of inventory, pricing, or catalog files to distributors and retail partners. Flows run on schedule with retry and notification.
Inbound ASN pickup: automated pickup of advance ship notices from carrier or 3PL partners for feeding into inventory systems.
Operational reliability for supply chain
Section titled “Operational reliability for supply chain”Supply chain file exchange is latency-sensitive. A missing daily manifest or duplicated ship notice has direct operational cost.
Xferity provides:
- scheduled flows with configurable retry on transient failures
- idempotency to prevent duplicate processing of the same file
- dead-letter for failed files so they can be reviewed and reprocessed
- instant notifications on failure so operations teams know before partners do
